Scientists, not lucky enough!

Fake is a fickle mistress and some inventors had the dubious honor of dying by the very inventions and discoveries that brought them accolades. Identify the scientists and their inventions/discoveries:

a)This Noble prize winner spent all the time in studying the isotopic elements, and ultimately succumbed to aplastic anemia because of continuous exposure to these elements. The research papers of this great scientist are kept in lead-lined boxes, to prevent the today's researchers from having the same fate.

b)The first two human passengers to fly as well as the first known fatalities of an air crash. It was in 1785, when they were trying to cross the English Channel that their invention suddenly collapsed and crashed, killing them both.

c)This pharmaceutical chemist, who is credited for discovering a number of chemicals, met his untimely death due to his long-standing habit of either sniffing out or tasting his discoveries when he tasted X, an extremely poisonous liquid. Who was he and what is this X?
