The painting is William Blake's 'Newton', and the band is Ulver (a Norwegian band, which literally means 'wolves'). 'Themes from William Blake's The Marriage of Heaven and Hell' is an Ulver album. Blake's poem, Marriage of Heaven and Hell, as we know it, had the lines '....doors of perception', which leads us to Aldous Huxley and then to Jim Morrison, and not to forget the many quiz masters!

The painting is Newton alright. However, the band isn't Ulver but Milton and the Devil's Party.

They derive their name from Blake's assertion that "The reason Milton wrote in fetters when he wrote of Angels and God, and at liberty when of Devils and Hell, is because he was a true Poet and of the Devil's party without knowing it."

Bands love Blake it seems. So do quizmasters :)
