A fairly convoluted question...

This company A(logo shown) shared its name with founder X.
X started his career with B, and the team reporting to him invented Y.
A was sold off to C and had its name changed. A had also invented the product Z, a variation of Y.
X then started another company D that shared its name with him.
D underwent a name change as well, and became E, and under X's leadership, became one of the world's largest manufacturer of a certain computer peripheral.
Give me everything.

Answer:
A = Shugart Associates, B=IBM, C=Xerox, D=Shugart Technology, E = Seagate, X - Alan Shugart, Y = 8'' Floppy Disk, Z=5.25 '' Floppy Disk

Went uncracked.
