One shot for the new year...


These two gentlemen proposed a theory in the December of 1999, for which they were aptly awarded in October, 2000. What theory did they propound?




Answer: The Dunning-Kruger Effect.
They were awarded the Ig Nobel Prize in Psychology in 2000.

The paper was titled, "Unskilled and Unaware of It: How Difficulties in Recognizing One's Own Incompetence Lead to Inflated Self-Assessments". You can download it here.

dunning and Kruger of DUNNING- KRUGER EFFECT fame.

Also awarded the noble prize for psychology in 2000.

The theory basically concerns with cognitive sciences and explains foolhardy's paradise in a scientific way. Also known as "illusory superiority".

Okay.
No clue about their names.
But,
Was it the explanation to Roberto Carlos' wonder goal, the curve being termed as the 'banana curve' and the magnus effect was used to explain it.
