At daybreak light breaths of air fan the still empty streets.

1. Clue 1: X was invented in 1959 by chemist Joseph Shivers.

Clue 2: In comic books, superheroes and superheroines commonly wear costumes thought to be made of X because X is skintight, as many superhero costumes appear to be drawn, and because it is almost exclusively made in the same bright solid colors as the early Golden Age comics. However, early superhero comics predate the invention of X (Superman-1938, Batman-1939, Captain America-1941).

Clue 3: Some of the rock/metal bands who used X leggings included Queen, Ratt, Van Halen, Mötley Crüe, Judas Priest, Scorpions, Iron Maiden, Saxon, Whitesnake, Bon Jovi and Twisted Sister, as well as many other bands. By the end of the 1980s and the decline of glam metal, and metal in general, with the advent of grunge, X fell out of fashion and many older glam bands found themselves being referred to as 'X Jockeys'.

Identify X.

2. X formed an elite circle of followers around himself, who observed a rule of silence called echemythia, the breaking of which was punishable by death. This was because the followers believed that a man's words were usually careless and misrepresented him and that when someone was "in doubt as to what he should say, he should always remain silent". X is revered as a prophet by the Druze faith. Identify X.

3. Identify.
