Some Straight, Some Twisted

Quite a few quizzes in the last few days. Here is my addition as well. Most of them are direct and factual and aimed at increasing trivia knowledge rather than testing your quizzing skills.

1. He is famous for many poems including "The Song of Hiawatha", "A Psalm of Life". Also gave the American translation of Dante's 'Divine Comedy'. Trivia: Known to be the first person to have running water in his home in the US.

2. Identify her. She is a famous Nobel Prize and pulitzer prize winner. Wrote many books extensively on China.


3. So far as I remember Amitabh Bachchan, Sachin Tendulkar and Aishwarya Rai have appeared together only once in an ad. What were they promoting?

4. X met Jim Morrison at UCLA's Film Department and used his music in his movie Y. His latest movie is "Youth Without Youth" which he describes as something very personal and not meant for mass consumption. This movie is slated for release in another 2 weeks. Gimme X and Y.

5. Connect 4 and 5.

6. "A poem should not mean, but be." Which poem and who is the poet?(Think: Functional English-CBSE)

7. Her Autobiography is titled "Daughter of Destiny". Who is she?(Ought to be easy with the pic)


8. She is well known for her roles as Alex Forrest in the movie A, as Madame de Merteuil in movie B and as the character X in the movies C and D. Identify her and A,B,C,D,X.

9. If Hippolyta is the Queen, then cryptically speaking- he is the king. Who is this guy?(again, should be easy)

10. Piyushnabu ________ is married to Supriya Jolly and has 3 children. He assisted his wife during the birth of their third child. Thats quite versatile, considering what we know him for. Who is he?

Ah, and of course- Mega Connect the answers( except 3 and 4. 5 relates to the megaconnect).

Well most of the answers are done. just 5.( connect between 3 and 4- its just a bit of trivia) and the megaconnect left.(@DD-its not something as obvious as Tintin-why do Megaconnects remind people only of Tintin and Asterix?).

@roshan:
Glenn Close played the role of Madame de Merteuil in Dangerous Liasions. You got the rest right.

I'll wait a while before giving them out.

ok... the connect between 3 and 4 is that Francis Ford Coppola suffered from polio during his childhood.

The piece connecting to megaconnect is the inventor of the polio vaccine- Jonas Salk.
